Position Overview
TZLA is looking for a Copywriter who writes like a weapon: precise, provocative, and impossible to ignore. You will drive the written voice of this organization, from cold lead reactivation sequences to partner campaign emails, from testimonial case studies to landing page copy, and the operational copy that members read every day. Your writing will challenge, awaken, and move people to act.
This is not a "write blog posts and wait for feedback" role. You are the voice of a movement. Your copy will reach thousands of prospects weekly through influencer partner campaigns (high-profile media partners), email sequences, newsletters, video scripts, and showcase pages. You will write in the tradition of Porter Stansberry-style direct response: challenging, anarchist, libertarian, unapologetic. Every piece you produce must feel like a truth bomb wrapped in a dare.
This is a remote, Specialist-tier role within the Digital Studio, reporting to the Digital Manager, with tight daily collaboration with the Growth team on campaign execution and funnel copy. Voice calibration and strategic messaging are set inside the Digital Studio in coordination with Growth, so direction and approvals follow the Digital Studio reporting line.
Core mandate: Build a copy engine that converts strangers into believers, and believers into members, at scale, while keeping every word inside TZLA's voice and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct-response email sequences & campaigns: Own end-to-end copywriting for all outbound email: cold lead reactivation sequences, nurture flows, partner campaign emails (coordinating with high-profile media partners and influencers), and transactional communications. Write in TZLA's signature challenging, sovereignty-driven voice. Every sequence must follow Jeff Walker's launch formula adapted to TZLA's non-commercial, transformational positioning
- Operational & member-facing copy: Write the system messages, onboarding flows, notices, FAQs, membership agreement supporting copy, and automation-generated messaging that touches prospects and members across the website and automation flows. This copy must be clear, compliant, and structured for reuse
- Newsletters & ongoing communications: Write and produce both the internal team newsletter and the external member/prospect newsletter. Internal newsletters keep the team sharp and aligned. External newsletters keep members engaged and prospects warm. Both must feel human, urgent, and worth reading
- Testimonials & case study pipeline: Take full ownership of the testimonial content pipeline at experiments.tzla.club. Interview members, extract compelling narratives from documented results, and write testimonial case studies that combine scientific credibility with emotional storytelling. Turn raw member experiences into structured, publishable proof that builds trust and drives enrollment
- Video scripts & creative collaboration: Write scripts for AI-generated videos in collaboration with the Digital Manager, Content lead . Participate in creative sessions, contribute to storyboarding, and ensure every script maintains TZLA's voice: bold, philosophical, and grounded in real science. Scripts must translate written copy energy into visual storytelling
- Copy systems & reuse: Maintain a reusable message library (headlines, blurbs, CTA blocks, disclaimers, proof snippets) so the team stops rewriting from scratch and launches move faster
- Workflow collaboration: Coordinate with the Digital Studio and IT for implementation so copy does not break automation logic
- Compliance language review & legal coordination: All copy must adhere to TZLA's Tax-Exempt Compliance Language standards before publication. You will use Notion AI to perform first-pass compliance reviews on your own drafts, before submitting clean copy for review by the Legal Lead. You are expected to self-audit consistently and only escalate to legal review once your draft is clean.
- Landing pages, showcase pages & member Extras store: Review and rewrite landing page copy for conversion optimization. In the near term, write showcase pages for the TZLA Extras store (extras.tzla.club), which is a members-only resource where existing members access companion tools and supplements that complement their plasma practice. Frame these as member resources with a unique angle that sets them apart from generic marketplace listings, never as retail offerings to the general public. You will also be expected to fully internalize the TZLA Club Brand Voice Guidelines and serve as the in-house guardian of voice consistency across all written output
Required Skills
- 5-7 years in direct-response copywriting, email marketing, or editorial content creation with measurable conversion results
- Portfolio of direct-response work that shows you can write long-form sequences that move people emotionally and drive action, not just "clean copy"
- Proven ability to write in a challenging, provocative voice without crossing into hype or dishonesty. You know the difference between manipulation and persuasion. You choose persuasion
- Experience with email sequence architecture: you understand pre-launch psychology, open/click optimization, segmentation-aware copy, and how to build narrative tension across a multi-day sequence
- Workflow and automation fluency: you can structure copy for reuse inside automation tools (GoHighLevel, Notion, DocuSeal) with variants and testing notes, so your words ship without breaking field mapping or formatting
- Strong editorial instincts: you can self-edit ruthlessly, kill your darlings, and ship polished copy without needing three rounds of review
- Testimonial and case study writing experience: you know how to extract a story from a conversation, structure it for credibility, and write it so it lands
- Speed of execution: you can produce a polished 800-word email in under 2 hours and a full 7-email sequence draft in under a week
- Proficiency with Notion AI and AI-assisted workflows: you use AI tools (specifically Notion AI) as a daily working tool for drafting, compliance review, and self-editing. You do not need someone to check your work for obvious compliance drift because you have already run it through AI-assisted review before submission
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with Porter Stansberry, Agora Financial, or similar direct-response publishers and their editorial philosophy
- Experience writing for health, wellness, alternative media, sovereignty, or liberty-adjacent audiences
- Understanding of Private Membership Association (PMA) language and non-commercial framing: you naturally write "donation" not "payment," "members" not "customers," "organization" not "company"
- Bilingual English/Spanish (substantial portion of our team and audience operates in Spanish)
- Experience with GoHighLevel, ConvertKit, or similar email/CRM platforms for building and testing sequences
- Background in scriptwriting for video (explainers, short-form ads, documentary-style content)
